Legal Information
Last updated: 2 November 2026. This page is the legal information page for this website, published in line with the disclosure rules that apply to commercial websites operating in the United Kingdom. It explains who publishes and operates the site, the company and tax identifiers we are required to publish, the terms on which the content may be used, and the rights available to you as a visitor or customer. It applies to every page, guide, download, form and service offered through the site, and it should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions and Payment and Refund Policy, each of which forms a separate part of our terms.
In this notice, 01we01, 01us01, 01our01, 01the operator01 and itemify mean the company that publishes this website. The site is an English-language commercial publication aimed at a professional audience in the United Kingdom and, where relevant, internationally.
We act in two capacities. We are the publisher of the editorial and technical content that appears on the site. We are also the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in respect of personal data collected through the site 01 for example when you send an enquiry through a form, or when a cookie or similar technology is placed on your device. Where we supply goods or services, we act as the trader for the purposes of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Identity of the operator: legal form, registration and statutory identifiers
This website is operated by Videndum plc, a public limited company incorporated in England and Wales whose shares are admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange. Videndum plc and its brands supply much of the equipment, software and support that sits behind modern studio and live production, including the Vinten and Sachtler ranges of camera supports, heads, pedestals and robotic systems, Autoscript prompting, Litepanels studio lighting, Anton/Bauer power systems, and Teradek and SmallHD wireless video and monitoring. That heritage is why this resource concentrates on studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting, sound and clean, repeatable workflows for television news and live shows.
Some of the equipment discussed in our guides 01 for example audio consoles, microphones, intercom and vision mixers 01 is manufactured by other companies. Those references are editorial and are given for professional convenience; they do not imply endorsement, sponsorship or any commercial relationship unless we state that expressly.
The following identifiers are published so that you can verify who you are dealing with:
- Legal name: Videndum plc.
- Legal form: public limited company (plc), incorporated in England and Wales.
- Company registration number: 00227407, registered at Companies House.
- Place of registration: England and Wales.
- Registered office and principal address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG.

Documents that must be executed on behalf of the company are validly signed by a director, or by the company secretary, in accordance with section 44 of the Companies Act 2006.
- Product and regulatory compliance: where we place regulated equipment on the United Kingdom market, we comply with the applicable product legislation, including the Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 and the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, together with United Kingdom conformity marking requirements. Declarations of conformity are supplied with the relevant products.
- Trade and professional registrations: where we or our brands belong to a trade association, a public commercial register or a professional scheme, the membership name and any registration number are shown in the relevant product or company documentation. 3. Registered office and how to contact us
Our registered office and principal correspondence address is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. Formal notices, correspondence about this legal notice and any written complaint should be sent there. We do not accept service of legal documents through social media accounts or through any informal channel.
For everyday enquiries you can use the contact form on our Contacts page, write to us by email at info@nfts.co.uk, or call 01494 671234 if your matter is urgent. Please choose the route that matches your enquiry: product and application support, editorial corrections or factual queries, orders, invoicing and returns, and data protection requests. Data protection requests are handled under the procedure described in our Privacy Policy.
We aim to acknowledge written enquiries within five working days and to provide a substantive reply within twenty working days. Where your enquiry concerns a safety-critical matter 01 for example a suspected fault in a camera support, lighting fixture or power system 01 please telephone us in addition to writing, so that we can respond quickly and, where appropriate, notify other users.
4. Purpose, scope and intended audience of the website
This site is a professional resource dedicated to studio production in motion. Its content covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound, and the design of smooth, high-quality workflows for television news and live shows. In practice that includes rigging and levelling camera supports, configuring heads, pedestals and robotic moves, balancing payloads, planning lighting positions and colour temperatures, capturing clean audio, and building production workflows that hold up under the pressure of a live transmission.
The intended audience is professional and semi-professional: broadcast engineers, camera operators, lighting directors, sound engineers, studio managers, freelancers, trainers and students of media production. No content on this site is directed at consumers acting outside a professional context, and nothing on it constitutes individual engineering, legal, insurance or health-and-safety advice for a particular site or production.
Our guides complement, but never replace, manufacturer instructions, risk assessments, method statements and the rules that apply in your own studio or location. Rigging, electrical work, work at height and the operation of powered equipment must be carried out by competent persons in line with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, among other requirements. If a guide appears to conflict with a manufacturer instruction or a site rule, the manufacturer instruction and the site rule take priority.
5. Access to and acceptable use of the website
The site is made available free of charge. We do not guarantee that the site, or any part of it, will always be available or uninterrupted, and access may be suspended for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control.
5.1 What you may do
You may read, view and print pages for your own professional or educational purposes; use our guides, checklists and diagrams as a reference when planning, rigging, lighting, operating or auditing a studio or a live production; and share individual page references with colleagues inside your own organisation on a reasonable, non-systematic basis.
5.2 What you must not do
- Use the site in breach of any law, regulation, licence condition or radio spectrum authorisation, including the rules that govern wireless video, audio and control links.
- Copy, republish, sell, licence, sub-licence or make available substantial parts of the site or its content to third parties without our written consent.
- Use automated means 01 crawlers, scrapers, bots or similar tools 01 to harvest content or data, or to extract content for the training, fine-tuning or evaluation of machine-learning models, without our written consent.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system, or probe, scan or test its security or that of our suppliers.
- Introduce viruses, malware or other harmful code, or interfere with the proper operation of the site, including by denial-of-service attempts.
- Submit unlawful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or infringing material through the contact form or any other channel.
- Impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with us.
- Use our names, brands, product names or logos in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship or partnership without our written permission.
- Use the site in a manner that damages our reputation or that of our brands, or that of the manufacturers whose equipment we describe.
5.3 Changes to the site
We may add, amend, update or remove content, features and sections of the site at any time, including when equipment specifications change. Where we withdraw content, the version you saw earlier may no longer be available, so please save anything you need for your own records. These terms continue to apply to any part of the site that remains available.
6. Intellectual property, trademarks and permitted use of content
All intellectual property rights in the site and its content 01 including text, guides, diagrams, photographs, video, audio, illustrations, layout, code and databases 01 belong to Videndum plc or its licensors, and are protected by copyright, database right and other rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and equivalent laws. All rights are reserved.
You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the site and to print or store individual pages for internal, non-commercial use by you or your own production team, on condition that you do not remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice, do not modify the content, and do not present it as your own work or as advice given by you on our behalf. Any other use requires our prior written consent.
Videndum plc, Vinten, Sachtler, Autoscript, Litepanels, Anton/Bauer, Teradek and SmallHD are trademarks of Videndum plc or its group companies, whether registered or unregistered. Third-party trade marks, product names and logos that appear on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Nothing on the site grants you a licence to use any trade mark, and no implied licence arises from your use of the site.
You must not frame the site, mirror any part of it on another website, or present our content as part of a competing service. We reserve the right to take technical and legal steps, including injunctive relief and claims for damages or an account of profits, against unauthorised use of our content and marks.
7. Accuracy, availability and limits of liability
7.1 Accuracy of technical content
We take care to keep our guides accurate and current, but studio equipment and production practice change quickly. Specifications, part numbers, firmware behaviour and recommended settings may change without notice, and different sites, payloads and environmental conditions produce different results. Content is provided for general professional guidance and must be verified against current manufacturer documentation and your own risk assessment before you rely on it. We are not responsible for decisions you take on the basis of a guide, for a configuration you adopt, or for the condition of equipment that we do not own or service.
7.2 Availability
We provide the site on an 01as available01 basis. We do not warrant that the site will be free from errors or interruptions, that defects will be corrected promptly, or that the site or its servers will be free of viruses or other harmful components. You are responsible for your own security arrangements and for the integrity of data on your own systems.
7.3 Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of production time, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, and for indirect or consequential loss of any kind, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the site. Where our liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to us for the relevant goods, service or content in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred pounds.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the implied terms as to title, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the applicable law.
7.4 Your statutory rights
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that we cannot and do not restrict 01 for example under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in this notice affects those rights. Our Payment and Refund Policy explains how to exercise them in practice.
8. External links and third-party content
From time to time we may refer to third-party websites, manufacturer documentation, standards bodies or training providers. Those references are provided for convenience and for professional accuracy. We do not control third-party sites, we do not endorse their content, products or services unless we say so expressly, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, legality or privacy practices.
Where our pages embed or reproduce third-party material 01 for example a specification table or an equipment photograph 01 that material remains the property of its owner and is used with permission or under an applicable exception. If you believe that content on this site infringes your rights, please contact us with details and supporting evidence and we will investigate promptly, removing or amending the material where that is appropriate.
9. Privacy, cookies and data protection
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, in relation to cookies and electronic marketing, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. Our Privacy Policy sets out in full what we collect, why we collect it, the lawful basis for each purpose, how long we keep it, who it may be shared with, and the safeguards that apply where data is transferred outside the United Kingdom.
In summary, when you use the contact form on our Contacts page or email us, we process your name, contact details and the content of your message in order to answer your enquiry, relying on our legitimate interests in running our business and on the steps needed to enter into a contract with you. Where we process data to comply with tax, accounting or product-safety obligations, the lawful basis is legal obligation. Where we rely on consent 01 for example for non-essential cookies or for marketing emails 01 you may withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before that point.
You have the right to be informed, to request access to your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in the circumstances the law allows, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability where processing is based on consent or contract. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exemptions. Requests are handled free of charge and we aim to respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner01s Office, the United Kingdom supervisory authority, and to seek a judicial remedy.
This site uses a cookie banner and, where non-essential cookies are used, they are placed only after you accept them. Our Cookie Policy lists the categories of cookies we use and their purposes, explains that no boxes are pre-ticked and that your choice is remembered, and tells you how to change or withdraw your consent at any time. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent you from reading the site.
10. Purchases, prices, cancellation and refunds
Where you buy goods or services from us, the sale is governed by our Terms and Conditions and our Payment and Refund Policy. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and, where we sell to consumers, include VAT; delivery charges are shown before you confirm your order. Where you order online, we explain the technical steps you must follow to conclude the contract, how to identify and correct input errors, the languages available for the contract, and whether we retain a copy of the contract for you.
If you are a consumer contracting at a distance or off premises, you normally have fourteen days from delivery or conclusion of the contract to cancel and receive a refund, and a model cancellation form is available on request. Some items and services are excluded from this right or are subject to early-expiry rules, for example sealed audio-visual recordings that have been unsealed, and bespoke or made-to-order items. Refunds are made without undue delay and within fourteen days of cancellation. Where services have been partly performed at your express request before the end of the cancellation period, you remain liable for the proportion already supplied.
We do not apply surcharges for any particular method of payment beyond the cost of processing, we do not add pre-ticked optional extras, and we do not charge for delivery beyond what we disclose before you order. Faulty, misdescribed or short-delivered goods are handled under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, with a thirty-day short-term right to reject, and rights to repair, replacement or price reduction thereafter.
11. Company information we publish
United Kingdom law requires a company to publish specified information on its website, business letters, order forms and emails. We keep that information up to date and, to make it easy to find, we repeat it on this page and in the footer of every page of the site. The statutory requirements we observe include the disclosure rules for companies, the information requirements for providers of services and for electronic commerce, and the pre-contract information required when we supply goods or services to consumers.
Accordingly, our site displays: our registered company name; our company registration number; the part of the United Kingdom in which we are registered; our registered office address; our VAT number where applicable; and an email address and telephone number for direct, rapid and effective communication. Where the name of a director appears in any business communication other than as a signature, the names of all directors are disclosed, as the rules require. If we belong to a trade body or a public commercial register, or if we hold an authorisation or professional registration, those details are shown in the relevant documentation.
Non-compliance with these disclosure obligations is a criminal offence that may lead to a fine both for the company and for the responsible officer, which is one reason we review this page regularly.
12. Complaints and alternative dispute resolution
If something has gone wrong, please tell us first: write to our registered office, email info@nfts.co.uk or call 01494 671234 and describe the issue, the order or content concerned, and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and reply within the timescales described in section 3. Where a complaint concerns a product safety issue, we may need to ask further technical questions and to involve the manufacturer.
Consumers who remain dissatisfied with our final response may seek advice from Citizens Advice or their local Trading Standards service, and may bring a claim in the county court. Dispute resolution through an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider is voluntary for us and we will consider a request to take part on a case-by-case basis. The European Online Dispute Resolution platform is no longer available to consumers in the United Kingdom.
13. Applicable law, jurisdiction and third-party rights
This notice and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the site are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and nothing in this notice deprives you of the protection afforded to you by the mandatory consumer law of that part of the United Kingdom. Where you are based outside the United Kingdom, we may nonetheless be required to comply with local disclosure or consumer rules in respect of the services we offer there, and where a website relates primarily to overseas business, the parts of the site relating to our United Kingdom business still comply with United Kingdom requirements.
No person other than you and us has any right to enforce any provision of this notice, and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 is excluded to the extent permitted by law. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
14. Changes to this notice, footer information and last-updated date
We review this page at least once a year and whenever our corporate information, the law or our services change. The version published on the site is the current version, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for a reasonable period. If you continue to use the site after a revision, you are taken to accept the updated notice; if you do not agree with a change, please stop using the site.
To make the essential legal identifiers available on every page, the footer of the site displays the following summary in plain text:
Website Operator: itemify | Company Registration Number: 00227407 | Place of Registration: England and Wales | Registered Office Address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG | Email: info@nfts.co.uk | Telephone: 01494 671234
